A. Government should not declare a deemed university as undeemed because in such a case the people who had joined this deemed university shall suffer. A deemed university could be closed down befrore admission start and once there is admission, then government should not have power to declare the sme as undeemed.

Q. Hello Is there any difference between degree of deemed universities or other regular universities
Asked by Jack J - Sun Jan 21 03:49:35 2007 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Deemed University is a status of autonomy granted to high performing institutes and departments of various universities in India. It is granted by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of India. The Deemed University status enables not just full autonomy in setting course work and syllabus of those institutes and research centers but also allows it to set its own guidelines for the admissions, fees and instruction of the students. The parent Universities of these deemed universities cannot control its administration, though the degrees of deemed universities are awarded by the parent universities. However many deemed universities are allowed to award degrees under their own name.

Will I still be able to apply for an MBA in a foreign university? I have VTU certificate for my first year and a Jain Univerisity certficate for my second year! I'm am terified. Please advise!

A. It was a doomed university. Even if you wish pursue your current studies in Jain University, it is better that you simultaneously seek admission to a distance learning program of a central university like IGNOU, Delhi University etc. This way you will have both the degrees after 3 years.

is it safe to join a deemed university this year?
Q. what do you think will happen to the universities that have been given a three year lifetime to bring up their standard? Will the new students get a valid certificate in case they fail to do so?
Asked by hinata - Fri Apr 2 06:22:09 2010 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Don't do it. College is stressful enough without having to worry that your courses and degree may be worthless. Think about it - if the school was being run right, why are they even in this situation.

A. You need to be certain that your current degrees are recognized as being acceptable to the university where you apply. If so, yes, you can register if you have the money to fund you for the 4-5 years it will take to complete your Ph.D.

Asked by hanumanth - Wed Jul 23 03:20:22 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. I believe that it is having diversity in the subject matter at the same campus. This is the origin of the word "University". "Uni" means "one" like a "unicycle" has one wheel. and "versity" is part of the word "diversity". So a university is one campus that teaches many different subjects. Also, being a university generally implies that the university had graduate programs that award advanced degrees such as masters degrees or even doctorate or Ph. D. degrees.

A. Depends on the way you learn. Most companies are going to higher you if you have the degree and do well in an interview. Someone who studied at a top University but has no social skills and doesn't do well in an interview will not necessarily get the job over someone who went to a college but has more to offer.
